Hakone

Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park features volcanic topography, hot springs resorts, sulphur mines, outstanding views, an open air sculpture museum, and the historic Hakone Checkpoint, where identification passes for feudal travellers were inspected.

Fuji-san beckons us down the road. Torii gate marks the entrance to a shrine on Lake Ashinoko.
The summit of Mt. Komagatake offers a spectacular view of Fuji-san (when it's visible).  Hakone craftsmen fashion several varieties of wood into mosaic pictures, trays, bowls and vases.
